The have finished the construction of the underpass on Fuller Road and so I can now take a different route to work when I bike. It is almost all residential (which is so nice), but it also has a really steep hill. You can see the route yourself on google maps. In Troy they had a community garden / community building parade and puppet show which I went to (below). That was a boat which we were all in during the parade. Map to Nanotech Center. =0=

At the Habitat for Humanity Restore, Troy took in a really nice bike that he thought I would like, above. At CommerceHub there was a pot luck Thanksgiving lunch the week of Thanksgiving. It was quite nice. CommerceHub Thanksgiving Potluck. =0=

In Albany there is a really massive Equinox Thanksgiving Dinner which serves over 5,000 people, most of which are delivered to people's homes after being put together by volunteers (which I helped with) and then delivered by other volunteers. They have huge numbers of volunteers helping out the week before preparing the different foods. They also have several shifts on Thanksgiving morning. We were able to move around and work in different areas helping to prepare the dinners in aluminum tins for heating when they arrive, distribute the boxes of rolls, napkins, plastic ware, adding gravy (frozen), etc.. All very busy and well organized. Albany Equinox Thanksgiving Dinner preparations. =0=

At the end of the year there was a really nice full day solstice event at Still Point. Winter Solstice Celebration. =0=

After the afternoon activities, there was a pot luck and then Frank, shown here, led a couple of sufi circle dances (aka Dances of of Universal Peace). It was very sweet and a good start to a new era (which might be a more accurate description of the end of the count down in the Mayan calendar). Winter Solstice Celebration. =0=
