In early March of 2009 there was another Singles Build. This time we met, had our breaks, and had lunch (for some) around the wood stove (shown above) as it was still cold with a little rain. We were wrapping the house (the yellow plastic stapled into the particle board), installing the rafters, putting up dry wall / fire wall at the far end exterior, and installing fireblocks between studs. I was on the team that put up the wrap, cut out and taped the windows. I took the two pictures above and got the rest off of Flickr (pdx habitat martins) were they were posted by the site manager, Ron. Here is Lisa who was the leader of our house wrapping group. The units fill the lot pretty completely so there were some tight quarters working around the back (below) where they were putting the roof on the porch, and the side where they were putting up the green sheet rock as a fire wall. That was really tight. Lisa. =0=

Above was the group picture that Ron took at the end. I went out to the Jubilee Commons site again in March. Above is most of the crew at lunch. Laura was covering for Eric that day, but was sick. She slept through lunch. We started by QAing the previous unit and checking for nails / screws that stuck out (you could hear a clink when you ran a putty knife over them). After that we drifted over to the next unit, but I wasn't teamed up with anyone. I used scraps to finish off this section of this room. Chris suggested that they usually use a whole sheet and then cut out the door to minimize seams. As I was working alone, I was happy to work with smaller pieces. Martns Site, Singles Build. =0=
