In early July there was a special camping weekend for sufis from throughout the area at the Abode with a super Dances of Universal Peace (DUP). The camp was about a mile up the hill from the main facilities of the Abode. They were shuttling people up from the normal parking area, but the car that left just after I got there was all full so I started walking up, it was a beautiful walk with this nice video of a stream. There are camp style buildings with a kitchen and dining area. Most of the people were camping in tents around the very beautiful area. The Abode summer camp, New Lebanon, NY. =0=

The DUP circles were in the big tent. At one point I estimate there were over a hundred dancers in three or four large circles. It was impressive, the largest DUP event I have ever attended. I made series of videos of different parts of Shree Ram Jay Ram (1, 2, and 3). The Abode summer camp, New Lebanon, NY. =0=

Later in July I was able to visit a kirtan chanting group led by Amy (shown here) at the Unison Art Center in New Palts, NY (above). Amy has often played drums at DUP dances, but is also a phenomenal singer. They are a phenomenal chanting group with several wonderful musicians. I made another set of videos of their different chants (1, 2, and 3). Below is Dahlia who leads the kirtan chanting group on alternate Sundays in Fort Montgomery, NY (too far for me).
