Toward the end of my time at IBM Research I worked as a staff person for the Vice President of Computer Science and made up some fun color slides (they were pretty impressive at the time). I could choose from a wide range of colors, but it was all light levels. Beige for a future PC was challenging. Beige is a light brown, but brown is a dark orange. So, how do make a light dark orange. It turns out you can only really make a biege if there is white to compare it with. Strange. External Ten Year Outlook, 1988 =0=

The slides were made on a special very high resolution printer which exposed slide film. Of course you had to shoot a hole roll and have it developed, so it was important to get the details exactly right (corrections were a bother). I made extra copies just because the marginal cost was almost nothing if you were running out a roll of film. External Ten Year Outlook, 1988 =0=
