Molly, a friend of Jay's, was visiting from Austin. As Jay was recovering from his surgery on his birthday in January, we went to Jack's Oyster Restaurant in April. Above are Molly and Jay with their 42 ounce steak which they shared (with loads of leftovers of course). In May they had a Family Event retreat at the KTD Monastery. They had finished landscaping the courtyard (above). On Friday afternoon before the retreat, I hiked to the top of the firetower on Overlook Mtn and the view was really tremendous (and there wasn't the bone chilling wind either). The Family Event was way cool with lots of activities for kids. Lama Dudjom Dorjee spoke to the adults while the kids broke into three groups with singing, arts and crafts. Lama Dudjom Dorjee. =0=

In mid May I was able to join a Meetup dog friendly hike at Peeble's Island State Park. There was some confusion gettting to the meeting place of Battery Park in Waterford, NY. I made up a google map to the parking lot location as google didn't seem to know where that park was (and sent several us to Cohoes instead). Once we got together, we walked across the bridge to Peeble's Island. Above is a picture of the parking lot from the bridge. Peeble's Island State Park, NY. =0=

The trail around Peeble's Island has lots of great views. Peeble's Island is one of several islands in the Mohawk River just as it joins with the Hudson. Peeble's Island State Park, NY. =0=
